Hempstead, NY – Hofstra Field Hockey senior Madison Warfel has been selected the GoHofstra.com Student-Athlete of the Week for the period ending Tuesday, October 8 in a vote by fans on the Hofstra Athletics Twitter (@HofstraPride) account
Warfel, a native of Millersville, Pennsylvania, tallied two goals and one assist in two games as the Pride went 1-1 last week. She tallied all of her points in Hofstra’s 4-0 victory over Merrimack at the Hofstra Field Hockey Stadium last Sunday.
Warfel tallied the second and third goals for the Pride against the Warriors, scoring on a great individual effort in the third quarter, and then tapping home a rebound in the fourth quarter. She also assisted on the Pride’s final goal by sophomore Djuna Slort in the fourth quarter off a penalty corner.
On the season, Warfel has five goals and two assists for 12 points in 11 games which is second on the team.
