Joe Booth, who was Hofstra's first EIWA Champion, joined the Pride coaching staff in January 2025 as a volunteer assistant coach trainee. He wrestled at Hofstra in 2013-14 while pursuing his MBA after graduating from Dexel in 2013.
Booth would win the EIWA title at 165 pounds for the Pride during a season that saw him post a 35-9 record and earn a national ranking as high as No. 10. He was a perfect 4-0 at the EIWA Championships to win the title and earn an automatic berth to the NCAA Championships, where he went 3-2.Â
Prior to coming to Hofstra, Booth was a three-time NCAA qualifier at Drexel and compiled a 71-26 record. He would earn his degree in business administration with a concentration in marketing. Between his three seasons at Drexel and one at Hofstra, Booth won 106 career matches.Â
Since his graduation from Hofstra in 2015, Booth has worked in sales with stints at Exiger and Smith & Nephew before taking his current role at Medtronic as a clinical sales specialist, cardiac rhythm management,Â
A native of Bayville, New York, Booth was a four-time New York State champion at Long Island Lutheran High School.Â
