Hofstra alum Nanishka Perez is in her second season as an assistant coach at her alma mater in 2020.
Perez helped Hofstra to a 17-win campaign in 2019.
Perez concluded her playing career at Hofstra in 2018 and was one of the Pride's most consistent players during her tenure in Hempstead as a student-athlete.
Perez played in 445 sets in 124 matches during her career and posted 828 kills, 916 digs, 157 blocks, 111 service aces and 79 assists from 2015-18.
In her final season, she posted 207 digs and 186 kills in helping Hofstra to both the regular season and postseason Colonial Athletic Association titles and a berth in the NCAA Tournament. She was one of the main reasons the Pride was able to capture the CAA title as she earned CAA Championship All-Tournament honors after totaling 18 kills and 27 digs, including a double-double with 10 kills and 14 digs in the championship match.
She posted career-highs of 20 kills against Florida Gulf Coast in 2015, 21 digs versus LIU Brooklyn in 2017, six blocks versus Northeastern in 2015, five service aces at Delaware in 2017 and four assists versus CSUN in 2016.
Perez earned her BS in community health from Hofstra in 2019.
