HOFSTRA FOUR-YEAR CAREER PLAN
The Hofstra University Athletics Department has established a strong relationship with the Hofstra Career Center and successful alumni in order to provide student-athletes with career and graduate school guidance. Several programs are offered specifically to student-athletes throughout the year to assist with career development. They are designed to help students search for, and define, a career path, and instill necessary skills and knowledge of professional industries to help each student successfully approach life after graduation.
Each student-athlete will go through an intensive career and professional development program that will take them through workshops, resume writing sessions, job fairs and mentoring nights. Students will begin their career programming as sophomores and complete 10 programs and workshops before graduation.
Freshman Year
- Finding Your Future - Students will take part in a workshop that introduces topics such as career paths, establishing networks, as well as necessary skills that will help them take advantage of professional opportunities.
Sophomore Year
- Meaningful Experiences - This workshop will touch upon topics such as internships, resumes, interviewing skills, and developing meaningful experiences while competing as a Division I student-athlete.
