Hempstead, NY - Hofstra University Senior Associate Director of Athletics for Marketing and Communications Stephen Gorchov will be honored by College Sports Communicators for his 25 years of service to the athletic communications field.

Gorchov was promoted to his current position last November after serving as Hofstra's associate director of athletics for communications since 2009. He is in his 25th year as member of the athletic communications staff and serves as the sport contact for volleyball, men's basketball, men's lacrosse, and women's lacrosse.  He is also the spokesperson for the department of athletics, the contact for all administrative related public relations matters, and the team administrator for the Pride's men's golf program.

"Congratulations to Stephen on 25 years in the field of college athletic communications," said Hofstra Vice President and Director of Athletics Rick Cole Jr. "To have all 25 of those years at Hofstra is truly special and we look forward to the next 25 as well."

The Lafayette Hill, Pennsylvania, native served as the Hofstra basketball team's head team manager under Butch van Breda Kolff and Jay Wright from 1992 through 1996, and volleyball team head manager in 1996 and 1997. After leaving Hofstra, Gorchov served as a marketing and ticket intern at Drexel University from December 1997 to June 1998. He returned to Hofstra in June 1998 and served as an administrative assistant to the Hofstra volleyball program before being named the assistant director of athletic communications in December of 1999.

Gorchov and all of the 2025 CSC special award winners will be honored at CSC's 68th annual convention from June 8-11 at the Orlando World Center Marriott Resort. The convention is held in conjunction with NACDA and Affiliates Convention Week.

CSC's 25-Year Awards are presented to CSC members who have completed 25 years full-time (or more) in the sports communications profession (as of July, 2025) or who have been a CSC member for 25 years.
