2024 NABC Team Academic Award

Four From Pride Named To NABC Honors Court; Hofstra Also Garners Team Academic Excellence Award

Hempstead, NY - Hofstra men's basketball student-athletes Jacco Fritz, Tyler Thomas, Bryce Washington, and Myles Wilmoth have been named to the National Association of Basketball Coaches 2023-24 Honors Court, recognizing those men's collegiate basketball student-athletes who excelled in academics during the past season.

In addition, the program earned the Team Academic Excellence Award. 

The NABC Team Academic Excellence Awards recognize men's basketball programs that completed the 2023-24 academic year with a team GPA of 3.0 or higher. The NABC Honors Court, meanwhile, includes junior, senior and graduate student men's basketball players who finished the 2023-24 year with a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher. 

To earn this distinction, a student-athlete must be at least a junior or senior, have a 3.2 cumulative grade point average and be at their current institution for at least one year. 

Fritz earned his master's degree in sustainability with a 3.25 grade point average. 

Thomas previously earned his undergraduate degree in psychology in 2023 and is working towards a master's degree in rehabilitation counseling. He has a 3.81 GPA. 

Washington completed his master's degree in business administration with a 3.57 GPA. 

Wilmoth completed his undergraduate degree in liberal arts with a 3.33 GPA. 

As a team, Hofstra compiled a 3.26 GPA during the 2023-24 academic year and has an overall GPA of 3.17.
