Hempstead, NY - The Hofstra University men's soccer team capped off its historic 2021 season by earning No. 13 rankings in all three season ending national polls. The Pride received No. 13 rankings from the United Soccer Coaches, Top Drawer Soccer, and College Soccer News. The ranking is Hofstra's best-ever season-ending ranking.
Hofstra won a school record 18 games in 2021, posting an 18-2-2 mark. The Pride won its fifth-ever Colonial Athletic Association title and advanced to the NCAA Championship Third Round for the first time, defeating Lipscomb (4-2) in the first round and Penn State (8-2) in the second round before falling to Pitt (0-4) in the third round.
The Pride was ranked 13th in the final United Soccer Coaches and College Soccer News Polls of the regular season and maintained that ranking following the postseason. Hofstra was ranked as high as 11 by Top Drawer Soccer following the win over Penn State. The No. 13 ranking in the coaches poll is Hofstra's highest- ranking ever and marks just the second time that the Pride has appeared in the season-ending poll. In 2015 Hofstra received votes in the poll after advancing to the second round of the NCAA Championship.  Â
