Boston, MA – Hofstra senior
Becky Celorio closed out her collegiate cross country career by leading the Pride to a 28th place finish at the 2015 NCAA Division I Northeast Regional Cross Country Championship at Franklin Park Friday afternoon.
Celorio, a native of Scotia, New York, placed 77th in 22:21 on the 6K course to lead Hofstra for the fourth time this season and the 23rd time in 26 career meets. It was the second-best 6K time of her career.
Graduate-student
Angelica Peck placed 108th for the Pride in 22:40 while freshman
Felicia Banda was 114th in 22:46. Newcomer Marlah Givehand was the Pride's fourth runner, placing 209th in 24:15 while junior
Amanda Sullivan was Hofstra's last scoring runner, placing 228th in 24:38.
Sophomore
Emily McLean finished in 245th place in 25:13 while freshman
Alli Bacher was 255th in 26:24 to round out the Hofstra roster.
Hofstra finished in 28th-place with 733 points, a stellar improvement over their 2014 team finish of 40th with 1269 points. Providence won the team championship with 49 points with Syracuse second with 92 points and Brown third with 139. Dartmouth runner Dana Giordano won the individual championship in a time of 20:25
