Hempstead, NY - Each week, leading up to the 2013 Hall of Fame Dinner on April 13, GoHofstra.com will feature one of the seven individuals and two teams being inducted in the Class of 2013. Today Lena Malinowski of the volleyball team is highlighted.

A volleyball student-athlete from 1994 to 1998, Malinowski is the program's all-time leader in kills with 1,654 and ranks third all-time in digs with 1,545. She also holds Hofstra's single match record for digs with 41 versus Delaware on November 20, 1994.

Malinowski, a native of Mission Viejo, California, was a member of three consecutive NCAA Tournament teams from 1995 to 1997, and was an All-America East selection in both 1996 and 1997. During her tenure on the team, Hofstra was 110-71 and won North Atlantic Conference (1995) and America East Conference (1996, 1997) championships in three straight years.

In addition to her rankings in kills and digs, Malinowski also stands second all-time in sets played (513), fifth all-time in kills per set (3.22) and seventh all-time in digs per set (3.01).
