STEPHANIE CLARKE
Stephanie Clarke played goalkeeper for the Hofstra Women’s Lacrosse team from 1994 through 1997 and was the first All-American in program history.
Stephanie recorded a 38-23 record and 909 saves in her four years, a total that ranks second all-time at the University. As a freshman, she posted an 8-6 mark and was named to the United States Women’s Lacrosse Association All-America Honorable Mention team.
In 1996 Stephanie helped the Pride to a 13-3 record and a perfect 6-0 mark in the North Atlantic Conference. Hofstra won the NAC Championship that season and Stephanie was named the tournament Most Valuable Player. She recorded 257 saves on the season en route to earning third team Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association All-America accolades. In 1997, as a senior co-captain, Stephanie closed her career by helping the Pride to a 9-7 mark and was named to the IWLCA All-America second team.
A four-time team Most Valuable Player and a two-time all-region selection, Stephanie was also the 1996 North Atlantic Conference Player of the Year and the 1997 Hofstra Female Athlete of the Year. In addition, she also served as the starting goalkeeper in the North-South Senior All-Star Game that season.
Stephanie was selected to be a member of the United States National Team, on which she played from 1996 through 1998.
Stephanie currently resides in Amherst, New Hampshire, and has been a New Hampshire State Police Trooper for the past 10 years.
