9/7/2021 9:30:00 AM

Hempstead, NY - Hofstra University Head Women's Lacrosse Coach Shannon Smith announced today that Halle Majorana has been named an assistant coach for the Pride.

Majorana joins the Hofstra staff after serving as an assistant coach at Villanova University since 2017.

"Halle is a great addition to our staff," commented Smith. "Her extensive coaching experience and high-level playing experience will be a wonderful addition to our staff and our program. She, along with Amanda and Chris, are incredible assets for our student-athletes and I can't wait to get started."

"I am so excited to come back home to Long Island to continue my coaching career at Hofstra University," commented Majorana. "I would like to thank Shannon Smith and the rest of the administration for this great opportunity. I am looking forward to continuing to build off all the success this program has had and compete for CAA and NCAA championships!"

While on staff with the Wildcats she assisted in all facets of the program, including focusing on offensive strategies and preparing scouting reports. Majorana also oversaw all aspects of team travel and served as the liaison for team equipment.

Majorana also spent a year at Syracuse as an undergraduate student assistant.

Majorana has played professionally since 2016, starting off as a member of the United Women's Lacrosse League before transitioning to the Women's Professional Lacrosse League. Most recently, she competed in Athletes Unlimited Lacrosse that concluded its first season this summer.

A highly-decorated student-athlete during her career at Syracuse, Majorana was a two-time Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association All-American, including earning first team honors in 2015. She also earned All-Atlantic Coast Conference First Team accolades in both 2015 and 2016. As a senior she totaled 70 points on 40 goals and 30 assists and was named to the Tewaaraton Award Watch List.

Majorana started her career at the University of Maryland before transferring to Syracuse University, where she earned a bachelor of science degree in child family studies in 2016. Majorana earned All-ACC Academic Team honors three times during her career.
