Hempstead, NY - Hofstra University Head Men's Basketball Coach
Joe Mihalich announced that Isaac Kante, a native of Brooklyn, New York, will transfer to Hofstra from the University of Georgia.
"Our entire program is excited about the addition of Isaac," stated Mihalich. "We are looking forward to watching him develop over the next year and can't wait to see him suit up for the Pride. He will be a strong addition to our frontcourt."
Kante will sit out the 2018-19 campaign and have three seasons of eligibility remaining.
Kante played in 10 games for the Bulldogs this past season, scoring a total of 10 points and grabbing four rebounds.
Prior to Georgia, Kante spent a season at Putnam Science Academy in Putnam, Connecticut. He averaged 11 points and six rebounds per game, while shooting more than 60% from the field.
Kante attended Paul Robeson High School where he averaged 15.5 points and 12.6 rebounds per outing and earned second team honors from the Brooklyn Daily as a senior.
