Hempstead, NY – Hofstra University sophomore
Ryan Tierney was named to the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association Team of the Week for the period ending Sunday, April 1, the USILA announced Tuesday.
Tierney, a native of Massapequa, New York, tallied four goals and added one assist in the Pride's 9-3 victory over Towson last Saturday in the Colonial Athletic Association opener for both teams. Tierney was also named the CAA Player of the Week for his performance.
Tierney extended his consecutive game points and assists streaks to seven games with the five-point contest. The four goals were also his third hat-trick of the season and the ninth of his career.
Tierney now has 18 goals and 20 assists in nine games for the 5-4, 1-0 Pride this season. He also has 49 goals and 36 assists in 23 games during his Hofstra career.

Foster Cuomo, Quinnipiac (Jr., A, Oakville, Ont.)
Cuomo had six goals and two assists as the Bobcats handed Detroit Mercy its first MAAC loss; had four goals and two assists in the fourth quarter and scored his team's final four goals, including two that were man down
Dylan Gaines, Denver (Jr., D, Baltimore, Md.)
Gaines held the Big East's co-leading scorer to on assist and 0 for 7 shooting in a 6-5 win over Georgetown; defense held Georgetown, the top-scoring team in the league, to nearly seven goals below its average
Justin Guterding, Duke (Sr., A, Garden City, N.Y.)
Guterding had four goals and three assists in an 11-10 win over North Carolina; became the 13th player in Division I history to reach 300 career points
Foster Huggins, Loyola (Sr., D, Dallas, Texas)
Huggins had six caused turnovers – five in the first half – as Loyola defeated Colgate 11-7; also had five ground balls
TD Ierlan, Albany (So., FO, Victor, N.Y.)
Ierlan won 24 of 24 face-offs against Stony Brook and 16 of 24 face-offs against Harvard as the top-ranked Great Danes won twice; also had 36 ground balls in the two games
Keegan Khan, Villanova (Fr., A, Chatham, N.J.)
Khan had seven goals, on just nine shots, and an assist in a 14-9 win over Marquette; three of his goals came on the decisive 8-0 run midway through the game
Colby Kneese, Penn State (So., G, Dallas, Texas)
Kneese made 16 saves while allowing four goals in a 12-4 win over Ohio State; made 11 first-half saves and shut Ohio State out in the first quarter
Terrell Sands, High Point (Sr., D, Sebastian, Fla.)
Sands had four caused turnovers and four ground balls in an 11-9 win over Jacksonville; also held the Dolphins' leading scorer without a goal in the game
Cole Williams, Johns Hopkins
Williams had two goals and four assists as Hopkins defeated Rutgers 13-12; assist and point totals were career highs
Hofstra returns to action this Saturday, April 7 when the Pride host the Fairfield Stags in a CAA contest at James M. Shuart Stadium. Game time is 7 p.m.
