MLAX: Hofstra Travels To Syracuse For Two Scrimmages Sunday

Hempstead, NY – The Hofstra Men's Lacrosse Team will head upstate to Syracuse, New York on Sunday, January 28 to face the Orange of Syracuse and the Dolphins of Le Moyne in preseason scrimmages at the Manley Indoor Complex. Hofstra will face the host Orange at 10 a.m. and Le Moyne at noon. Both scrimmages are closed to the general public.

Hofstra Head Men's Lacrosse Coach Seth Tierney, who is 98-64 in his 11 seasons at Hofstra, returns 31 players, including eight starters, from last year's 11-3 squad that climbed as high as second in the nation in the Nike-United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association Coaches (USILA) Poll. The Pride, who advanced to the Colonial Athletic Association Championship semifinals, finished the year ranked 16th in the nation.

After Sunday's two scrimmages in Syracuse, the Pride will have one remaining preseason scrimmage on Saturday, February 3 against the Statesmen of Hobart at James M. Shuart Stadium on Long Island. Scrimmage time is noon.

Hofstra will open its 2018 regular season schedule on Saturday, February 17 in Columbus, Ohio against the Buckeyes of Ohio State. Game time is noon. The Pride will open their home schedule at Shuart Stadium on Saturday, February 24 against the Wildcats of Villanova at noon.
