Hempstead, NY - The Hofstra University Department of Athletics is excited to announce that it will be hosting its annual MIDNIGHT MADNESS celebration to kick-off the Hofstra Men's and Women's Basketball seasons.
The event will take place Thursday, November 2, from 8 to 9:30 p.m. in the David S. Mack Sports and Exhibition Complex. All Hofstra students and fans are invited to attend this free event!
As part of the evening, Head Coaches
Joe Mihalich and
Krista Kilburn-Steveskey will introduce YOUR 2017-18 Hofstra Pride Basketball teams. This will be your first opportunity to see both teams on the court as they participate in fun competitions! All season ticket holders are encouraged to attend to pick up your tickets and gift.
Prior to MIDNIGHT MADNESS, at 7 p.m. we will be holding an exclusive Meet the Coaches event right next door in the David S. Mack Physical Education Center for Hofstra Athletics Pride Club members and men's and women's basketball season ticket holders. At this event, Pride Club donors and basketball season ticket holders are invited to meet and mingle with our coaching staffs from our Pride programs. Food and drinks will be served and the Basketball Practice Facility will be open for a shoot around. This event will then lead into the MIDNIGHT MADNESS event next door around 8 p.m. Current donors and season ticket holders can RSVP to
Shaun Rutherford at (516) 463-4919 or
shaun.rutherford@hofstra.edu. If you are not currently a Pride Club member or season ticket holder and would like to become one, you can join the
Pride Club here or become a
men's basketball season ticket holder here or a
women's basketball season ticket holder here.
The first 1,000 Hofstra fans in attendance (students included) will receive a t-shirt with our new MIDNIGHT MADNESS logo (pictured above). In addition, the Student Government Association will be giving away 100 additional "GO PRIDE" MIDNIGHT MADNESS t-shirts to lucky fans during the event.
One lucky student will take home a Vizio 50" LED TV at the end of the night! All students can enter to win at the event and must be present to win.
Hofstra students will have the opportunity to win great prizes including Barnes and Noble gift cards and Hofstra gear. One lucky student will be selected to take a half-court shot to win free books for the semester, courtesy of the Hofstra University Bookstore. Once again, fans and students can have their pictures taken in a photo booth and receive commemorative prints from the event!
