Hempstead, NY – Hofstra University Deputy Director of Athletics
Jay Artinian has been selected to serve on the NCAA Men's Lacrosse Rules Committee, it was announced recently. Artinian's tenure will begin immediately and continue through August 31, 2019.
"I am honored to be selected for this important NCAA committee," stated Artinian. "This committee is tasked reviewing many meaningful aspects of the sport of men's lacrosse and I look forward to working with my colleagues from across the nation to constantly work to improve the sport."
The NCAA Men's Lacrosse Rules Committee, which consists of members from NCAA Divisions I, II and III, continually reviews all playing rules, and recommends changes that aim to improve both game play and student-athlete safety.

Artinian has served as the deputy director of athletics since September 2017, after serving in leadership roles in athletic facilities since 2000. He most recently was the senior associate athletic director for facilities from 2007 to 2017. A 2000 graduate of Hofstra with a degree in marketing, Artinian played for three seasons on the Hofstra Men's Lacrosse team and was part of Hofstra's NCAA Tournament team in 1999.
Artinian has also served as the tournament director for several NCAA Men's Lacrosse Quarterfinals that have taken place at James M. Shuart Stadium, as well as a multitude of other NCAA Tournament events that the University has hosted or served as the host institution for. Hofstra will continue to host the NCAA Men's Lacrosse Quarterfinals at Shuart Stadium through 2022.
