MTEN: Hofstra Adds One Recruit During Early Signing Period

Hempstead, NY - Hofstra University Tennis Coach Jason Pasion announced the signing of Shawn Jackson to a National Letter of Intent to continue his educational and athletic career at Hofstra University. Jackson will join the Pride Men's Tennis team in the fall 2018.
 
"Shawn will be a great addition to our program," said Pasion. "He is a highly-skilled player who has excelled in high school and in UTSA Junior competition. I look forward to working with him during his career at Hofstra."
 
Jackson, a Staten Island, New York, native, attends Susan E. Wagner High School and has been a four-year member of the tennis team under Coach Scott Fuchs. In 2016 Jackson won the consolation championship at the New York State Championships. In 2015 he won the USTA Eastern Section Mayors Cup and was a Staten Island Advance All-Star.
 
Ranked by The Recruiting Network as a four-star recruit, Jackson is also ranked as the No. 15 player in New York State and the No. 35 player in the Middle Atlantic Region.
 
An honor student, Jackson would like to attend medical school after he completes his undergraduate degree.
