WSOC: Hofstra Alum Leah Galton Earns Call-Up To England National Team

Burton Upon Trent, England – The all-time leader in points in Hofstra women's soccer history, Leah Galton, has earned her first call-up to England's senior national team, Manager Mark Sampson announced Thursday . Galton was named to the roster for a week-long training camp that begins Sunday at St George's Park.

The Harrogate, England, native has represented her country at the U17, U19 and U23 levels, including playing an important role with the U23 side at the La Manga Tournament in March.

Galton's success this summer with Sky Blue FC of the National Women's Soccer League drew Sampson's attention; she's recorded three goals and three assists in her rookie season in the league after joining the team in May following her graduation from Hofstra.

Galton finished her career with the Pride with 48 goals and 26 assists to set the school record with 122 points.

England will spend the first five days of the camp at St George's Park before moving to Bisham Abbey for the final two days. England's next match is Sept. 15 against Estonia at Meadow Lane in England.
